Margaret grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, and developed a love of travel listening to stories from her grandfather who worked for TWA. After studying Japanese at university, she relocated to Japan and spent five years working in international relations in a small suburb of Kyoto. During her tenure in Japan, Margaret travelled extensively in East Asia, developing a deep respect for Asian culture.

Moving to London in 2013, Margaret was introduced to the Business Events industry, leading the EMEA sales and marketing strategy for the Japan National Tourism Organisation for five years.

Margaret joined MMGY Hills Balfour in 2018, bringing an understanding of Asian culture, developed over more than 10 years of experience working with the region, to work on Thailand and other key Business Events accounts. Since 2019, Margaret has also taken on the role of secretariat for the events industry charity Meeting Needs, using her project management and organisational skills to
drive key fundraising campaigns supporting the charity’s objective to ease suffering in communities in the UK and abroad.
